Q. What is the difference between copy and synchronize? A. Copy performs a one-way file copy. Only the target folder will be updated. Synchronize performs a two-way file copy to ensure that the latest version of each file exists in both the source and target folders. The result is that both folders will contain the same files. This option is useful for synchronizing files on your laptop computer with files on your desktop computer or a network drive.
Q. What is the difference between copy and mirror A. Copy copies files from the source to the target folder. If there were already files in the target folder that do not correspond to files in the source folder, they will remain untouched. Mirror duplicates the source folder to the target folder. Files in the target folder that do not correspond to files in the source folder will be deleted.
Q. Does CopySynch include a retry feature? A. Yes. The retry immediately feature was introduced in version 3.3. There is currently no Retry at End of Job feature. This feature will be added in a later release.
Q. Why would I run a job as a low impact job? A. When copying large files on local disk drives your system may appear busy, even though CPU utilization is not high. CopySynch is moving large amounts of data on the disk and the operating system may waiting to access the swap file to respond to your input. When a job is run as a low impact job, CopySynch pauses disk I/O periodically to allow the operating system and disk I/O subsystem to catch up. This option should be used only if you want to run CopySynch and other applications on your computer the same time and have noticed performance degradation. The job will take slightly longer.
